Wrap’em Groups
Posted on May 5th, 2009 1 commentThere are several groups either around the country or online that are supporting Wrap Them in Love with your quilts. Please click on comments to this post and tell everyone about your group. Where are you located? How did you get started? How long have you been quilting for Wrap’em? Tell us something about your members. Do you have any upcoming events planned? Anything else you can think of to share?
Notice that we now have three pages here. There is this home page, an “about” page and a “quilt blocks” page. I’ll be adding more hints and blocks there. Eventually, I’d like to add a page about Wrap’em Groups, so I will copy and paste your comments from this post to that page in the future. You can also email me with any special information that you’d like me to add there. ——-Ellen

Quilts, Quilts, Quilts!
Posted on May 5th, 2009 No commentsGeri from the Arlington group just stopped by with 13 quilts that the group turned in when they met last weekend. She said they are all working hard to have lots more for us next month when they get together. Besides making new quilts, these ladies have also been working hard to help finish some of the donated quilt tops that we have. Way to go, ladies!!
Yesterday the mail lady came driving up to the door honking and honking! I ran out to see what she had for me. She had her little red jeep full of big boxes! She asked me if it is Christmas or something! There were three big boxes of quilts that arrived. The first was from Bev in Alaska. She quilted eight quilts that were pieced b y JoAnn. Next was a box of 5 quilts from Donna in Indiana. Those quilts were from Donna and Cindy C. The third box was 4 quilts from Jayne in Michigan! They are all such wonderful snuggly quilts! Thank you to all of you!
Now I have a mountain of quilts to take pictures of and update the gallery on our website. My “quilt holder” isn’t available for a few days, so as soon as I get some help to do that, I’ll get the pictures taken, edited and uploaded. Don’t forget about the galleries from previous years too. There are so many quilt ideas for you there. And, you can’t help but smile and feel good when you see all of the quilts that have been lovingly donated by all of you.
Happy Quilting, Everyone! ——-Ellen

Quilts from Texas
Posted on May 3rd, 2009 No commentsThe mail lady brought us a box of 5 wonderful large quilts from Tammy in Texas. It is always nice to have quilts that are a little larger since kids come in all sizes! Thank you so much, Tammy —–Ellen

Quilts from the Bama Belles
Posted on April 30th, 2009 1 commentA large box of quilts arrived from Linda J in Alabama. Linda always rolls the quilts up so that she can fit them into the box. When I opened it up, the rolled up quilts were so beautiful—just like a box full of presents—and that was just the backs of the quilts! Of course, they were even more beautiful when I opened each one. Please let the Bama Belles know that the quilts arrived safely and we appreciate all of the hard work and love that it takes to make these wonderful quilts. ——Ellen

More Quilts arrive
Posted on April 28th, 2009 No commentsToday two boxes of quilts arrived from the Portland Piecers! I counted 14 quilts as I spread each one out so that I could look at them with my little quilt inspectors. Ethan tested each one for snuggles and of course, they all passed with flying colors! They are all terrific! Cher, please let the other Portland Piecers know how much we appreciate them.

Checking in
Posted on April 27th, 2009 No commentsWhat a good idea to keep us connected in another way! Should work well when it is retreat time since you communicate in real time. I guess you can post pictures but I will have to play with some buttons since I am not familiar with how wordpress works other than in commenting.
Hurray for the gallery pictures too, Ellen. As soon as I am done taking care of DJ’s birthday cake I will sit down and enjoy viewing them.
Thanks for all you do for us!
